For the 9th consecutive year, the Raiders have at least one player sign a National Letter of Intent to continue their baseball career at the collegiate level. Seniors Jake Gothrup, Ethan McCormick, Hayden Davis, Will Isom & Konnor Kreinbrook became the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th & 25th players respectively to sign since 2013.
Gothrup signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball career at Western Kentucky University. Considered to be one of the best two-way players the Raiders have had in recent years, Jake capped off his high school career by being selected to the North Central Conference 1st Team and was also voted as our team’s Most Valuable Player. Last June, Gothrup led the 2022 Raiders to an appearance in the Class 4A Indiana High School Athletic Association’s Sweet 16. He finished his senior campaign with a .353 BA with 13 extra base hits. On the mound, Jake was 2nd on the team in innings pitched (39.1), strikeouts (63) and ERA (2.314).
The Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky compete in Conference USA and are coached by Marc Rardin.
McCormick signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball career at Indiana Tech University. Ethan capped off an unbelievable career in 2022 by being the 13th Raider selected to the Indiana North All-Star team. McCormick helped lead the Raiders to back-to-back sectional championships along with capturing the program’s first conference title in 25 years. In 98 career innings, Ethan went 15-4, struck out 160 hitters and posted an impressive 1.36 ERA.
The Warriors of Indiana Tech compete in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and are coached by Kip McWilliams. McCormick will be reunited with 2020 Harrison Baseball Alum, Seth Whaley.
Davis signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball career at Indiana University Kokomo. The 2-year varsity starter is coming off a senior season in which he hit .420 in 114 plate appearances to go along with 15 extra base hits, 21 RBIs, 37 runs & 21 stolen bases. As a result of his great season, the league’s coaches voted Davis to the North Central Conference 1st-Team.
The Cougars compete in the River States Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and are coached by Drew Brantley.
Isom signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball career at Marian University. Will, a 2-way player, is coming off a senior season in which he scored 16 times, 10 RBIs, 8 stolen bases & had an OPS of .731. In 21 innings on the mound, Isom had a 3.67 ERA and 21 K’s.
The Knights of Marian compete in the Crossroads League of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and are coached by Todd Bacon.
Kreinbrook signed to continue his baseball career at Oakland City University. Konnor has ran his fastball up to 87 mph and, as he continues to develop, will be a great asset to the Mighty Oaks pitching staff.
